Why
This Site Exists
For
a short span of two years I lived in the town of Mont Vernon, New Hampshire. The
quaintness of the pastoral scenery and the warmth of the residents charmed me.
Many current citizens of the town hail from the early settlers. My own ancestors
did not hail from Mont Vernon, but they did live in the surrounding towns of Goffstown,
Weare, Manchester, Concord, Boscawen, and other NH towns. Some of the early Mont
Vernon settlers were my distant cousins.
Although
less than 50% of the people now living in New Hampshire have their original roots
there, the "Yankee" spirit lives on in Mont Vernon. Despite
my moving away from New Hampshire several years ago, I carry with me this spirit,
and a very "New Hampsha" accent.
